Our story
-
Zuheir Al Chehabi
Zuheir el Chehabi, a respected orchard grower in Syria, embarked on a groundbreaking journey. While traditional apple varieties thrived in Syria's high mountains for centuries, Zuheir dared to be different.
In the mid-1940s, he planted exotic apple varieties, Starkling Delicious and Golden Delicious, on his Damascus farm. However, the lower altitude didn't match his vision for quality. In 1956, he established a new farm in the Sasaa area, 900 meters above sea level, using innovative techniques like East Malling 7 rootstocks.
Despite his relentless efforts, he couldn't achieve his desired apple quality. In 1971, fate intervened when he tasted apples from Jabal el Arab mountain. Their perfection inspired him to explore the rocky terrain further.
Facing immense distances and solitude, Zuheir's unwavering dedication transformed his dream into reality, revolutionizing Syrian apple cultivation. His story exemplifies the power of vision and persistence.

Kinanah Al Chehabi
Kinanah Zuheir al Chehabi, driven by a strong sense of family legacy, embarked on a remarkable journey. In 1972, he answered his father's plea for help and returned to Damascus. After touring potential farm locations, they decided on Jabal el Arab mountain. The 1973 Syria-Israel war destroyed their existing farm, pushing them to action.
Over several years, they purchased and developed the land, importing apple trees from France and the US. Kinanah's passion for apple production led to apple cider vinegar production, which he began distributing among friends and family.
In 1991, he launched apple cider vinegar as a business, and by 1999, it was available to the public. His dedication preserved the family's legacy and turned their farm into a thriving orchard and apple cider vinegar business, a testament to his determination and commitment to family traditions.

Saad Al Chehabi
Saad Kinanah al Chehabi, the son of Kinanah, shared an unbreakable bond with his father. For years, they journeyed together into the mountains, where Saad learned the intricate art of vinegar-making and the nuances of apple agriculture. Their relationship was not just that of father and son; they were best friends, sharing dreams, challenges, and an unwavering commitment to their family's legacy.
However, life took an unexpected turn with the sudden passing of Kinanah. Saad was faced with a choice: to let the family's heritage fade away or to carry the torch forward. He chose the latter, fueled by a determination to honor his father and grandfather, and to preserve the family name.
Despite the backdrop of war and the daunting challenges that came with continuing the business in Syria, Saad remained dedicated and disciplined. He knew that their legacy was worth every hardship, and he was unwavering in his commitment to maintain the high quality of production they had always upheld.
Today, Saad Kinanah al Chehabi stands at the helm of the family business, a testament to his father's teachings and his own resilience. He carries the torch with pride, determined to expand the business internationally. With each step he takes, Saad not only ensures the family's enduring legacy but also makes them proud by sharing their tradition and exceptional products with the world.
